Santiago de Compostela is a quiet and welcoming city with only 90,000 inhabitants, students can walk from one end to the other in just 45 minutes! It is not only known for being the destination for Spain´s largest religious pilgrimage, but it is also a young and fun city, with a third of its population made up of university students.

The school offers 6 classrooms, and free internet access in the computer area – plus free Wi-Fi in all areas. The classes are kept small and generally average 5-8 students per class, making it easier to build relationships with tutors and make new friends.

The school’s ethos is very much focused on the spoken language, so students are encouraged to participate in class and interact not only with each other but with all staff at the school and out and about. Classes focus on communication and expressing ideas, and topics covered include current affairs. As well as offering standard language courses for all levels, students can also choose intensive or private tuition – as well as the option of a work placement through their internship course.

But it’s not all work! The Academia Iria Flavia offers fantastic activities to their students outside of lesson time. They can choose from excursions to surrounding natural parks and villages, to taking part in cultural experiences such as sampling local gastronomy, watching Spanish cinema and even studying Spanish songs and lyrics. The school can also accompany you to local markets and boutiques so you can practise their new skills in the real world.

All accommodation on offer is within a 30 minute walk from the school. Students can stay with host families, in student residence, shared apartments or even their own private apartment.
