Barcelona is an unrivaled city full of art, culture and history. Traverse its winding Gothic streets and marvel at the Gaudí architecture and Picasso wall art, while the impressive cathedrals loom over the old ‘paseos’ and the bright blue sea glistens beyond. Now imagine all of that at your feet while learning the Spanish language at one of the city’s most loved language schools – Camino Barcelona.
The Camino Barcelona language school is located in the very centre of Barcelona with accommodation on-site so you are never too far away from the heart of the action. The school is located near Plaza Cataluña and just a stone’s throw from the famous landmarks of Gaudí’s ´La Pedrera´and ‘Casa Batló’.
The school’s courses include Intensive, Super-intensive course, Combined (which also includes personal one-to-one lessons), DELE preparation course, One-to-one, a seasonal course over Christmas (an ideal opportunity to celebrate New Years and Reyes in Spain too), Part-time evening course, Business course, Spanish & Dance or A-level revision. There is also a Club 50+ course for the more mature student, because it is never too late to learn. For those wishing to mix their studies with a bit of fun, the school offers the option of learning traditional Latin dance of Flamenco or Salsa alongside the language course. Here students study 20 Spanish lessons per week, along with 3-5 dance classes.
Each classroom has a maximum of ten students, with an average of seven, with university trained Spanish tutors eager to make learning Spanish fun. The school is fully air conditioned in a beautiful old building offering students an in-house internet café, free Wi-Fi and a patio and sun roof terrace where students can relax and get to know one another.
The school is also unique as it is the only language school in the city to offer on-site accommodation (perfect for those wanting to enjoy the night life and still get to their lessons on time the next morning). The fully furnished apartments are right above the school and students share with fellow students. You can even upgrade to Superior Residence which includes meals and free Wi-Fi in your room. Outside of the main building there is also the option to stay with a Spanish host family, an ideal opportunity to continue your language practice outside of the classroom, or self-catering apartments. For those wishing to live alone the school can also organize the rental of studio apartments.
As well as an array of language courses, the school also offers a Cultural Program where students can practice their new language skills in a local setting. There are Spanish film evenings, local guided tours around sights such as the Olympic park and Las Ramblas, school parties and extra Culture Lessons where students can hear talks on the local history and contemporary Spain. The tutors play a large part in ensuring their students get a real slice of Spanish life during their stay, and organize Tutor/Student evenings at local tapas bars, salsa nights or concerts, plus there are many weekend excursions to be enjoyed to exciting locations such as Figueres, Girona, Sitges and Tarragona.
