About Santiago Iria Flavia

Founded in 1994, Academia Iria Flavia is located next to Santiago de Compostela’s beautiful historic district in a new building the school has occupied since 2007. The school offers a personal, friendly approach to language instruction in a family-like environment.

Managed with care by its owners, Iria Flavia consists of 6 classrooms and a computer room with free Internet access for students. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout the premises.

Student-teacher interaction is a matter of high priority at Iria Flavia. With an average classroom size of 5 (maximum of 8), the school holds no more than 90 students at a time. Each student enjoys easy access to help and advice from friendly staff and teachers at all times.

Students are also encouraged to interact amongst themselves and to meet with and practice Spanish with native speakers. The school’s language exchange program allows students to practice Spanish with Spanish students outside of class; it is an excellent opportunity to gain flexibility and confidence with the language while making Spanish friends.

Students develop a close relationship with their classroom teachers and have frequent contact with other instructors through organized activities and during coffee breaks. Because of this, teachers are carefully selected based not only on their experience but also with particular emphasis on their personal characteristics.

Patience, friendliness, the desire to help in and out of class and the capacity to create a positive learning environment define the essence of language instruction at Iria Flavia. These qualities and the high standards of the school, along with its excellent installations, make it easy to learn Spanish in a relaxed, familiar and stimulating environment.
