About Nerja School Malaga

Nerja is a small coastal town about 50 km east of Malaga. Also favored among tourists, this cheerful town marks the easternmost point of the popular Costa del Sol

With 16 kilometers of beautiful, unspoiled beaches nestling hidden coves and caves, and surrounded by the Sierra Almijara mountains, Nerja remains an authentic Andalusian town that has remained true to its cultural roots and is largely unchanged compared to many of the other booming tourist towns along the Coast. Its most popular attractions are the Caves of Nerja, a 5 km cavern network more than 5 million years old; and the Balcon de Europa (Europe’s Balcony), an imposing scenic view over the Mediterranean Sea.

Average temperatures are 30º C in the summer, 24º C in spring, and 18º C during the winter.

Nerja Language School is conveniently located right in the center of Nerja’s enchanting old quarter, very near the town’s numerous beaches, restaurants and shops. Plenty of accommodation is also available nearby.

A friendly Andalusian villa with a familiar atmosphere and an ample tropical garden provides an ideal setting for the school. 12 fully equipped interior and exterior classrooms (lessons are often taught in the garden as well) as well as a bookstore and cafeteria form part of the installations.

The school also boasts a student residence hall (the ‘Club Costa Nerja’) within less than five minutes walking distance. This beautiful four-story building of recent construction built in Arabic-Andalusian style boasts terraces with sweeping views on the mountains and ocean, and an Andalusian patio. Here, besides enjoying quality accommodation, students have access to additional services such as use of a library, internet café and cafeteria.

Teachers at the school are degree-holding philologists and specialists in the various programs on offer. They form an enthusiastic and well-coordinated team of professionals committed to providing students with an effective, enjoyable learning experience. In addition to the cornerstone classes in Spanish language, Nerja Language School offers programs with emphasis on administration, commerce, business, tourism, Spanish culture and civilization, and literature (among others).
